private equityfund of funds
Screendoor is a venture capital fund of funds platform for the next generation of venture capital firms. Uniquely founded by accomplished GPs alongside institutional LPs with over a decade of experience, we invest anchor LP capital in new fund managers and provide them with curated mentorship from our iconic GP Advisors. Since inception, Screendoor has evaluated over 90% of new funds launched, giving the firm unmatched visibility into the early-stage VC landscape. Screendoor is both a signal and a partner, helping new GPs get in business and scale smarter to become an enduring firm. For LPs, Screendoor offers investors differentiated exposure, early visibility into rising firms and the notoriously opaque VC ecosystem, and a refined pipeline of transparent, direct relationships. We serve as an extension of LP teams to identify and access alpha before it becomes consensus so that institutions can build stronger, more effective venture portfolios with greater precision and purpose. Backed by long-term, patient capital, Screendoor is reshaping how the next generation of VCs get their start—and how great firms are built.

Strategies

US VC Emerging ManagersFund of Funds
Traditional fund-of-funds and LP portfolios weren't build for the next generation of VC funds. Screendoor is. This is our second vintage of our "fund I" strategy that is designed to provide our LPs with exposure to the first institutional funds of US early stage emerging managers. Many new firms intentionally aim to keep small fund sizes, creating exclusive opportunities that limit direct institutional LP access. Even LPs that are active in the venture capital ecosystem have a difficult time finding, underwriting, and accessing potential outperforming Fund I's because Fund I’s do not fit their traditional diligence frameworks. Other LPs must wait for a full traditional track record, leaving them as bystanders without exposure to the very performance in Fund I’s that generates the signal to invest in their future fund offerings. Screendoor LPs can have exposure to and early relationships with a diversified basket of 20-24 potential outperforming funds that could one day become the capacity-constrained brands of the next-generation. We serve as an extension of our LPs' teams, providing market intel, support building their ideal venture capital portfolios, and early relationship access into the next generation of industry-defining managers.
US VC Emerging Managers + Co-InvestmentsFund of Funds
Traditional fund-of-funds and LP portfolios weren't build for the next generation of VC funds. Screendoor is. Our Echo strategy is designed to provide LPs with exposure to the Fund IIs + of managers that LPs struggle to find, diligence, and access. Echo also provides our LPs with co-investments sourced from managers across the entire Screendoor platform: our 2021 vintage, our Fund I strategy of funds, and our Echo strategy of funds. Many new firms intentionally aim to keep small fund sizes, creating exclusive opportunities that limit direct institutional LP access. Even LPs that are active in the venture capital ecosystem have a difficult time finding, underwriting, and accessing the Fund IIs and IIIs of emerging managers. Other LPs must wait for a full traditional track record, leaving them as bystanders without exposure to the very performance that generates the signal to invest in their future fund offerings. Echo will invest in these competitive, small funds that have the early signals of a strong track record in progress. Regardless of our prior relationship, every Echo fund goes through a full underwriting.
